FAMILY CIRCUS Collection

There is, so far as I can tell, no announcement about this at the publisher's site, IDW Publishing. Nevertheless, THE FAMILY CIRCUS LIBRARY VOLUME 1 hardcover, which collects the first two years (dailies and Sundays) of the long-running panel, looks like a keeper for sure. And it looks like it may be out in time for the Holidays. From the press release at Westfield Comics:

Bil Keane celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Family Circus! The Family Circus Library, Vol. 1 by Bil Keane collects the classic newspaper strip in chronological order for the very first time, in beautifully designed hardcover books. Starting with the very first strip, originally published on February 29th, 1960, The Family Circus Library, Vol.1 will feature a complete run of the first two years, including dailies and Sundays. Beautifully produced by Eisner award-winning designer, Dean Mullaney, the mastermind of the Library of American Comics, and just in time for the 50th anniversary of one of America's most popular and beloved strips! Hardcover. Full Color. 240 Pages 11 x 7.5 ISBN: 978-1-60010-548-7

I love the clean, supple Bil Keane cartoon line. Below is a 1967 Sunday image from Comic Art Fans:

I'm looking forward to this. The few examples I've seen of early "Family" strips were incredibly entertaining.
